At Select All you'll find tea, coffee, support on tap and the chance to get to know and learn from you own creative community.

As well as a warm, welcoming space to mingle, you are encouraged to bring your laptop (or just whip out your phone!) and ask each other for opinions or support for your work. Starting and running a business can be an isolating experience so here here is the opportunity to finally bounce those new ideas around!

Each meet up will have a different guest expert who you can have a short one-to-one conversation with about your work. A copywriter about your tone of voice, a photographer about your visuals, a shop-owner about wholesale, or a social media manager about building your audience. Someone who knows what it's like to build a creative business for yourself.

Groups are always kept small so the vibe stays intimate and the pace stays gentle. Everyone will have a chance to be heard.

Sign up to my seasonal letters to find out when meet up dates are released. I can't wait to meet you!

Before life as a printmaker and mentor, Jen worked as a freelance copywriter, writing articles, site copy, and producing social content for a range of clients from kids’ magazines, to travel blogs, to consultancies, as well as running her own creative blogs.

Through this experience and building a small business herself, Jen knows how to hone a clear tone of voice across platforms, and the importance of keeping focus on your brand message.

For our first event we had the whole first floor of The Department of Coffee and Social Affairs, Kingston, to ourselves. Set one street away from the River Thames, and nestled down a quiet street, this space had bundles of natural light and space to sit in small groups, as well as mingle.

The downside was there was no step-free access so we are looking for an equally lovely, but more accessible venue for the rest of the series.

We start with introductions from Cass and Jen and a little overview of who is in the room, and what we'll be working on together.

Then, cuppas in hand, pastry crumbs on chins, we'll mingle about saying hello to each other, swapping business cards or links, and making connections. Even if your new business isn't online yet, now is your chance to talk about it in present tense, share your story and realise that you're going to make it real.

Next we'll break into small groups around tables to chat content, review each other's photography and writing, and gather and offer supportive feedback. Cass I and I will also be holding our free 1-2-1s in this time, casting a professional eye over your content and answering any niggling questions you have (more details below).

Who is this for?

  • Women working from home who want to meet and work alongside like-minded creatives in an encouraging and cosy setting.

  • Artists and makers who know the branding style and tone of voice they want for their online marketing, but are struggling with consistency or not quite achieving the overall feel they want.

  • Silly hearts who need motivation and accountability to finally get that content polished and live online!

  • Both brand new businesses who need support and feedback to share their first content with the world, and established businesses who want to review how their direction matches with their aspirations.

What is included?

  • An invitation to our private Facebook group so you can meet and get to know your fellow introverts ahead of the event. We know how hard it can be to walk into a room full of strangers, even if you know those strangers are in the same boat! So we'll break the ice before we meet, and create a room full of friends instead.

  • Time to mingle! There will be complementary pastries, tea and coffee and a welcoming atmosphere for you to finally put faces to the names in your new support network.

  • Peer-to-peer review with other attendees.

  • A swish new notebook for making copious notes.

Optional extras

  • Ten minute one-to-one with Cassandra, who will review your images, ask about your visual aspirations and answer your most pressing questions.

  • Ten minute one-to-one with Jen, who will proofread your content, and discuss the overall tone of voice and direction you are aspiring to for your business.

This support is free, but limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Please pop a note on your booking at checkout and we’ll be in touch to confirm asap.

What do I need to bring?

  • Your fully charged laptop, (and charger if you don’t think it’ll hold out the 3 hours). There will be limited plugs available.

  • 3-5 product images that you wish to edit

  • 1-3 pieces of written content that you wish to polish. For example, an About page and two product descriptions

Please note, this is not an editing workshop or teaching event. You will need to have at least basic knowledge of the editing software of your choice. This is a chance to meet your local creative community, focus on your business in a supportive and collaborative setting, and finally raise those niggling questions with professionals face to face.
